Days 02 : Rest day at Nyalam for acclimatization
Rest days in Nyalam to acclimatize before heading up higher. A short way out of town there is a small temple, Nyalam Pelgye Ling, which is associated with the eleventh- and twelfth-century poet lama Milarepa.

Days 03 : Drive to Tingri (4390m)
After breakfast early in the morning drive to Tingri through lush, green lower hills into the dry and arid landscape of the Tibetan Plateau. We cross several high passes including the Lalung La [5,050m], which offers the most breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan range including Mt Everest.

Days 04 : Trek to Lung Thang (4510m)
The first day of trekking tour takes us across the Tingri plain as we make our way south towards Cho Oyu, we will pass through Chholung Village and then to Lung Thang. It is a bleak region surrounded by barren flats, yet the people manage to harvest barley. Most villagers here are also herders.

Days 05 : Trek to Lamna La (5150 m)
Today we start trekking heading up into the mountain towards the top of the Langma La [5,150m]. It is a hard day's trekking with a lot of uphill walking, but more rewarding to get the views of the Himalayas in closer.

Days 06 : Trek to Zommug
We start the trek from Langma la, towards Zommug. As we get closer we can see the whitewashed walls of Zommug village, the highest permanent settlement in the Everest region. Zommug is set high above the valley in a moonscape of barren hills with views of Mount Everest and Gyachung Kang.

Days 07 : Trek to Rongbuk
Today we start the trek towards Rongbuk crossing various passes and the Himalayans.

Days 08 : Exploration at Rongbuk Glacier
On the last day of our Himalaya trekking tour we hike towards the Dza Rongbuk monastery and the Rongbuk Everest Base Camp. Dza Rongbuk Gompa and its accompanying hermitage retreats were introduced to the world in the 1920s through the accounts of the first British mountaineering teams.

Days 09 : Drive to Lhatse (4050m)
Early in the morning we leave the Rongbuk valley. We have a short drive towards Shegar over the Pang La [5,150m] away from the main Himalayan range. We drive to Shegar via the Friendship Highway.

Days 10 : Drive to Shigatse (3900m)
Today we continue along the Friendship Highway. Before the small town of Lhatse we cross the highest pass on our journey, the Gyamtso La [5220m], before descending once more to the barren splendour of the plains. We stay in Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet.
