Itinerary In Detail |
Days 01 :
Drive to Border, cross border and drive to Nyalam (3750m)
After breakfast drive through the beautiful Nepalese
countryside to Kodari at the Nepal-Tibet border and
to Nyalam on the Tibetan side of the border. |
Days 02 :
Rest day at Nyalam for acclimatization
Rest days in Nyalam to acclimatize before heading up
higher. A short way out of town there is a small
temple, Nyalam Pelgye Ling, which is associated with
the eleventh- and twelfth-century poet lama Milarepa. |
Days 03 :
Drive to Tingri (4390m)
After breakfast early in the morning drive to Tingri
through lush, green lower hills into the dry and
arid landscape of the Tibetan Plateau. We cross
several high passes including the Lalung La
[5,050m], which offers the most breathtaking
panorama of the Himalayan range including Mt
Everest. |
Days 04 :
Trek to Lung Thang (4510m)
The first day of trekking tour takes us across the
Tingri plain as we make our way south towards Cho
Oyu, we will pass through Chholung Village and then
to Lung Thang. It is a bleak region surrounded by
barren flats, yet the people manage to harvest
barley. Most villagers here are also herders. |
Days 05 :
Trek to Lamna La (5150 m)
Today we start trekking heading up into the mountain
towards the top of the Langma La [5,150m]. It is a
hard day's trekking with a lot of uphill walking,
but more rewarding to get the views of the Himalayas
in closer. |
Days 06 :
Trek to Zommug
We start the trek from Langma la, towards Zommug. As
we get closer we can see the whitewashed walls of
Zommug village, the highest permanent settlement in
the Everest region. Zommug is set high above the
valley in a moonscape of barren hills with views of
Mount Everest and Gyachung Kang. |
Days 07 :
Trek to Rongbuk
Today we start the trek towards Rongbuk crossing
various passes and the Himalayans. |
Days 08 :
Exploration at Rongbuk Glacier
On the last day of our Himalaya trekking tour we
hike towards the Dza Rongbuk monastery and the
Rongbuk Everest Base Camp. Dza Rongbuk Gompa and its
accompanying hermitage retreats were introduced to
the world in the 1920s through the accounts of the
first British mountaineering teams. |
Days 09 :
Drive to Lhatse (4050m)
Early in the morning we leave the Rongbuk valley. We
have a short drive towards Shegar over the Pang La
[5,150m] away from the main Himalayan range. We
drive to Shegar via the Friendship Highway. |
Days 10 :
Drive to Shigatse (3900m)
Today we continue along the Friendship Highway.
Before the small town of Lhatse we cross the highest
pass on our journey, the Gyamtso La [5220m], before
descending once more to the barren splendour of the
plains. We stay in Shigatse, the second largest city
in Tibet. |
Days 11 :
Sightseeing & drive to Gyantse (3950m)
Today we will visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one
of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet,
before setting off on the drive to Gyantse. In
Gyantse we can explore the Pelkor Chode Monastery
and the Gyantse Kumbum. The Kumbum is a large
gold-domed stupa and its many chapels house an
impressive array of Tibetan Buddhist murals. |
Days 12 :
Sightseeing & drive to Lhasa (3660m)
Sightseeing around Gyantse, enroute visit a
beautiful turquoise lake the Yamdrok -tso, and then
crossing Khamba La pass (4794 m) and continue on to
Lhasa. |
Days 13 :
Sightseeing in Lhasa
After breakfast drive to visit Sera Monastery, Norbu
Lingka Temple and then Jokhang Temple. |
Days 14 :
Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today after break fast we drive you to visit the
Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery of Tibet .In the
evening you can scroll around the local market. |
Days 15 : Fly to Kathmandu
Drive to the Lhasa Airport and then fly back to
Kathmandu |
